NEWS: St. Anselm's College has been awarded the Biffa Inniovation in Recycling Award for 2007 for its current schemes and innovative plans to push the boundaries of ecological education....pictures to follow.

Welcome to St. Anselm's College Environmental Education Webpages. As a college with a large extended community it is our duty to consider our impact on the environment.

St. Anselm’s is now launching its drive to become an even more environmentally
friendly institution. For this to be effective we need every member of our community to support us in this vital initiative. It is part of our commitment to educate beyond the classroom and for future life.

Our first areas of focus will be the purchase, use and disposal of paper within the college. Supporting this will be the recycling of used mobile phones and ink cartridges and an investigation into our energy use.

What does this entail?

The aim is to reduce the college's impact on gobal warming and worldwide resouce use. We want to do 'our small bit' in this important international initiative and we need you to supoport us if you can!

The college wants to further improve its 'environment' from the amount we recycle and the waste managment to improving eating areas and ecological education.

Helping us...

You can help us in three simple ways initially.

1. Collect all your old ink cartridges and mobile phones at and work and send them into college to be placed in the recycle boxes distributed around the campus.

2. Register your place of work and encourage all your colleagues to collect all their old ink cartridges and mobile phones at and work and log onto recycool to register your work as a supporter of St. Anselm's College. The company will collect the box from your work when half full and allocate funds to the college account.

3. Can you help us develop our quad garden / outdoor eco-classroom or dining room refurbishment? See the links above for more details...

Thank you and watch this space and we develop this essential initiate at the college.

If you can help please email ecoissues@st-anselms.com. Mr Rumsby - Deputy Headmaster.
